Tutoring the Player - Rebecca Jenshak (ARC)

Tutoring the Player - Rebecca Jenshak (ARC) ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest opinion. Tutoring the Player is the most adorable book I’ve ever read by Rebecca. It was so cute but also funny and I couldn’t stop swooning! It follows the very shy „wallflower“ Daisy, who has a crush on her lab class partner Liam and Jordan, the bad boy hockey player with a heart of gold. Daisy is added to Jordan and Liams group in their shared lab class, because her partner is a now show, and although she is very happy to be partnerd up with the good guy Liam, her crush, she could do without Jordan. But when Jordan notices Daisys sneaking looks at Liam, he decides that his Team Captain doesn’t need a distraction and convinces Diasy to tutoring him so she would stay away from Liam. What Jordan doesn’t expect was to fall in love with Daisy or how she would react when she discovers that Jordan does not, in fact, needs her tutoring.   Daisy and Jordan’s story was so sweet. They ...

One-Timer - Teagan Hunter (ARC)

One - Timer - Teagan Hunter  ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest opinion.   One- Timer is the third book in Teagan Hunter’s Carolina Comets series and follows Hollis and Lowell. Hollis recently divorced her cheating husband and is feeling very emotional thus it isn’t easy for her to really enjoy her sisters wedding. After a rocky start, Hollis and Lowell decide later that evening to call a truce and spent the night together with the intention to never see each other again. But a few weeks later, Hollis discovers that she is pregnant and the father happens to be no other than the famous hockey player and best friend of Hollis‘ sister’s husband, Lowell. Normally, I’m a bit hesitant when it comes to the pregnancy trope because I don’t really like it but I couldn’t say no to this book and I’m so glad I didn’t! I loved Hollis and Lowell from the very first second, they had such a rocky but funny start and the humor was amazing in this book. Their relations...

Always on my Mind - Samantha Chase (ARC)

Always on my Mind - Samantha Chase  ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest opinion.   After confessing her love and getting rejected by her (former) best friend Tyler, Parker decides it is best if she puts some distance between them and moves back to Magnolia Sound, the small town where everyone of her big family lives. The only problem is, that she doesn’t have a place to live but then she happens to meet her former schoolmate Ethan who has a free room in his new house and Parker ends up renting said room. So, this book was kind of a ride for me. I haven’t read any of the Magnolia Sound books and I think that was a mistake because Parkers family situation was so confusing to me and I couldn’t really sympathize with her siblings because from my point of view they weren’t great to Parker but I think if I read those books first, I would have understood them better.   The plot was great. I liked the idea and I also liked the development of Ethan and ho...

Lick of Fire - Clara Elroy (ARC)

Lick of Fire - Clara Elroy ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest opinion.   Lick of Fire is the third book in Clara Elroys City of Stars series but can be read as a standalone since all of them follow a different couple but I would recommend reading the first two books in the series, for a better reading experience. This book focuses on Ares and Serena.   Ares and Serena know each other since their childhood but after Serena’s father got arrested and everything else in her life went south she disappears and they don’t see each other ever again. At least Ares thinks he won’t see his former crush ever again but when he is forced to meet a client at a house he wants to sell he was thrown back into his past. Are the two of them able to bring the flames that were once extinguished back to life, or are they so shaped by their past that they can't leave those things in the past?   Serena is such a great character and I was seriously surprised by her. Sh...

The Heart of Us - Kennedy Fox

The Heart of Us - Kennedy Fox  I received a copy of The Heart of Us in exchange of an honest review.   Easton is interested in Tatum from the moment she stepped inside his surf shop and asked for a job but due to her recent break up from her abusive husband, Tatum isn’t in the right headspace to date someone. Especially someone who is a bit younger than her. But when her ex-husband shows up unexpectedly and burns Easton’s shop down, both of them are forced to spent the unforeseeable future together in Easton parent’s beach house.   Are they able to stay just friends or does the forced proximity alight new sparks?   After reading The End of Us, I was so, so excited for Eastons book! I loved him from the very first second and enjoyed ever scene he had so him getting a whole book was amazing! He is caring and funny and a really good guy but as much as I loved Easton I couldn’t really bring myself to like Tatum. She was a very difficult character for me. Sh...

Blind Pass - Teagan Hunter (ARC)

Blind Pass - Teagan Hunter  ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest opinion.   God, I absolutely adored Ryan and Rhodes! I loved all the characters, I loved Harper and Collins moments, I loved the pets and don’t get me started on Ryans grandma! She was clearly my favorite character.   This book was so good! I don’t know what else to say I loved everything about it. Ryan and Rhodes chemistry was so good and I loved how their relationship developed and how they fell in love with each other. Rhodes is the grumpy hockey player and Ryan is his sunshine.   It was such a sweet and emotional romance with an unplanned wedding in Vegas, so many lovable characters, great banter and so many sweet and tender moments. I couldn’t put this one down and I really hope that Teagan writes a book for every hockey player on the team because they are all so amazing and each oft hem deserves their own story.   I really can’t wait for the next book. Teagan’s ...

Camp Nerd - Bella Jewel (ARC)

Camp Nerd - Bella Jewel  ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest opinion.   It is supposed to be a relaxing vacation to focus on their mental health and to take a break from real life and its problems, but one night changes everything for Lei and the rest of her orchestra friends when one of them is found dead.   I have to be honest I am a litte ambiguous about this book. I really enjoyed reading it and especially after the dead body was found I couldn’t put it down because I really wanted to know if this had something to do with the scary story one of the men told them, or if one of them was actually a murderer. But I had my issues with the characters. I liked Lei, the female protagonist, and her best friend, but I had my issues with Rhett, the male protagonist and love interst of Lei. I had the feeling that a lot of background information was missing and the whole relationship development was a bit too fast form me. Although I had my issues, I real...
