Always on my Mind - Samantha Chase

ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest opinion.

After confessing her love and getting rejected by her (former) best friend Tyler, Parker decides it is best if she puts some distance between them and moves back to Magnolia Sound, the small town where everyone of her big family lives. The only problem is, that she doesn’t have a place to live but then she happens to meet her former schoolmate Ethan who has a free room in his new house and Parker ends up renting said room.

So, this book was kind of a ride for me. I haven’t read any of the Magnolia Sound books and I think that was a mistake because Parkers family situation was so confusing to me and I couldn’t really sympathize with her siblings because from my point of view they weren’t great to Parker but I think if I read those books first, I would have understood them better.

The plot was great. I liked the idea and I also liked the development of Ethan and how he stood up for Parker in front of her whole family, but overall this book wasn’t really it for me. The whole time I thought something was missing and I couldn’t really connect with Parker and Ethan and their romance felt kind of off to me.

I’m giving this book 3,5 stars because although I couldn’t connect with the characters, this book had a lot of great moments and I also liked the plot and how Parker and Ethan could help with each others insecurities and problems.

3,5/5
