Surprisingly Us - Erin Hawkins

 Surprisingly Us

Erin Hawkins

Huge thank you to Erin Hawkins and Literally Yours PR for sending me an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

Surprisingly Us is the last book in Erin Hawkins Unexpectedly in Love series and follows Rhys and Lettie.

Rhys needs to improve his bad boy image if he wants to convince the board members that he’s the best candidate for the position of the foundation president and what better way to accomplish that than dating the talented ballet dancer and former childhood friend Colette? The only problem is that he needs to convince her to play along but little did he know, that Lettie also needs to improve her dancing in order to get the lead role in the upcoming ballet performance and fake dating and learning more about relationships suddenly sounds like a good plan.

Lettie is reluctant at first, which I really liked because it seemed more authentic and suited her character. She wasn’t one to push around and told Rhys when she didn’t liked something or thought he was ridiculous.

At first, I liked Rhys. I’m a fan of the whole „I need to improve my image by fake dating my former childhood friend“, but as soon as they got together for good I began to loose my sympathies for him. He was a good boyfriend, he was really attentive and looked out for Lettie but character wise, he felt like a completely different person to me.

Even though I wasn’t a huge fan of Rhys and Lettie as a couple, I loved this book! It was funny and sweet and I loved reading about the other couples from former books.

The Unexpectedly in Love series is an interconnected series but I would recommend reading the books in order, because each couple makes an appearance in the following books.
