Austin's Revenge - Jax McKay (ARC)
Austin's Revenge - Jax McKay
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest opinion. Thank you so much Grey’s promotions!
Austin’s Revenge is the second book in Jax McKay’s Ares
Falls Billionaires series and although the first one, Awakening, is just a
prequel including approximately 90 pages I would recommend reading this first.
The book is written in a dual POV which means, we are
following the two protagonists Violet and Austin.
It is labeled as an Office romance but it is important to
know, that Violet and Austin know each other from a one night stand a couple of
years ago. Both acknowledge one another and don’t try to pretend this night
never happened which was really refreshing since a lot of books with this trope
focus on a character who pretends to have forgotten.
Austin’s Revenge is not only about this Office Romance but
also about Violet being blackmailed. The
book begins with Violet being fired from her new job and her ex- boyfriend forcing
her to appyl for the assisant job at Austin’s new MMA promo company which he founded
with his two friends, Jay and Cash, and his twin brother Asher. Violet is now
forced to forward information about the new company to her ex-boyfriend but she
didn’t expect to care so much about the company and her three bosses and is now
in a conflict because her ex-boyfriend threatens her younger brother.
I really, really enjoyed reading this book. Austin’s
Revenge was a great and enjoyable book and I really liked the writing of Jax
McKay. It wasn’t boring for a second but it also didn’t feel like there would
happen too much. Violet and Austin were great characters and I liked how strong
and also caring Violet was. Althoug we don’t really know much about the side
characters, I enjoyed reading scenes with them and I can’t wait to read their
books!
Austin’s Revenge is a great office romance which keeps you
at your toes to the finish line. It is filled with tension, humor, friendship
and love and it is a quick and enjoyable read.
