Klapppentext

College was supposed to be my chance to get over my ugly-duckling complex and spread my wings. Instead, I wound up in a sorority full of mean girls. I already have a hard time fitting in, so when my Kappa Chi sisters issue the challenge, I can’t say no.

The dare: seduce the hottest new hockey player in the junior class.

Conor Edwards is a regular at Greek Row parties…and in Greek Row sorority beds. He’s the one you fall for before you learn that guys like him don’t give girls like me a second glance. Except Mr. Popular throws me for a loop—rather than laughing in my face, he does me a solid by letting me take him upstairs to pretend we’re getting busy.

Even crazier, now he wants to keep pretending. Turns out Conor loves games, and he thinks it’s fun to pull the wool over my frenemies’ eyes.

But resisting his easy charm and surfer-boy hotness is darn near impossible. Though I’m realizing there’s much more to Conor’s story than his fan club can see.

And the longer this silly ruse goes on, the greater the danger of it all blowing up in my face.

Meine Meinung

The Dare was one of the books I totally looked forward reading to this year not only because it‘s the last book of the Briar U series, which is one of my favourite series but also because we follow Conor Edwards, which we have met in The Play. I was so excited to read his story because I absolutely fell in love with him in The Play and I am so thankful that I received a copy of The Dare as an ARC. So at this point I have to thank Nina Bocci who send me the copy and also Elle Kennedy for writing this amazing series!

I‘m a huge fan of the Off-Campus and Briar U series and with The Dare, being the last book of the Briar U series, we get an absolutely perfect conclusion to both.

As I mentioned before, we follow Conor Edwards and also Taylor Marsh and both of them were amazing characters. God I fell hard for them!
Conor is a really funny, handsome guy and he is the kind of character that makes you grin all the time. He had his own issues and struggles and it was wonderful to read how he learns to deal with them.
Taylor Marsh is such an adorable character and just like Conor, she had her own issues and inner demons that a lot of people can understand, me included, and I loved that. I enjoyed reading her thoughts and being in her head. She was the perfect blend of being adorable and tough as hell.

Conor and Taylor were so cute together. I loved every second with them because they had really good conversations that made my cry from laughter and they were so good for each other. I loved how Conor treated her from the very first second and honestly? If I didn‘t already fell for him in The Play, it would be their very first interaction and how he dealt with the situation that would have made me fall for him.

I loved the sports parts in every book and I was so into it whenever they had a game. I was feverish every time, was happy whenever they won or was sad and suffered whenever they lost. So, I have to say Elle Kennedy did a wonderful job by writing those parts because they were one of my favourites in every book!

So, Conors and Taylors story was perfect. Both of them had their issues and both of them fucked up, grew up and learned and reading their character development was interesting and amazing and I just loved it! I have no other words to describe the whole story.

Although Jake and Brenna will always have a really, really, really special place in my heart, Conor and Taylor were perfect.

All in all, the book was a total perfection and I know I sound like an broken record but I can‘t stress enough how The Dare was the perfect conclusion. Although it was a bittersweet time for me reading the story I enjoyed every second of it. On the one hand I was so happy reading their story and to meet new characters and a new heroine that I adored completely, but on the other hand I was so sad that this is the last book and that we will never return to the Briar U with a new story, new characters, new moments that will makes us laugh, cry or fell for someone.
So thank you Elle Kennedy, for creating those two amazing, funny and loveable series that will always have a really special place in my heart.
