A Borrowed Boyfriend - Angela R. Casella

Bild
A Borrowed Boyfriend - Angela R. Casella A Borrowed Boyfriend is the first book in the Fairy Godmother Agency series by Angela R. Casella. It follows Marnie, who got left at the altar and ends up being a meme and Griffin, a bartender who becomes Marnies borrowed boyfriend. I absolutely adore the fake dating trope and the concept of the Fairy Godmother Agency was amazing. Marnie and Griffins chemistry was amazingly shown and I enjoyed their banter and friendship development so much. This was such a quick, funny and lightweighed story with a lot of sweet moments between those two characters and I can’t wait to read the other books. Overdue - Avery Samson

Bild
Overdue - Avery Samson I’m so sorry to say this but I didn’t like this book. The plot sounded amazing and I was really excited because it sounded like a cute, funny small town romance about two people in their early/mid twenties who know each other since they were kids and fell in love. Somehow it was like that but the characters felt so shallow and the two protagonists had no chemistry at all. It was all very fast and there wasn’t really a moment to breath instead the next thing happened and than the next and in my opinion it was a bit too much. I still think that the plot idea was amazing and I believe that if the book was a bit longer and the characters had more time to grow and also explore their relationship I would’ve liked it more but I just think it wasn’t the right book for me.   ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review. 1/5 ☆

Unexpectedly Mine - Erin Hawkins

Bild
Unexpectedly Mine - Erin Hawkins Unexpectedly Mine is the second book in the „Unexpectedly in Love“ series and follows Emma and Griffin. Emma is a hopeless romantic and designs wedding dresses what brings her to Las Vegas in the first place, but what she didn't expect was seeing an engagement announcement by her ex boyfriend in the middle of her show. Heartbroken and angry about it, she decides to be adventurous and forces her best friend to watch a male revue dancer show where she meets Griffin, one of the dancers. Griffin and Emma instantly hit it off and spend the rest of the evening/night together after she watches his last dance show. So, being heartbroken, slightly drunk and in the presence of a nice, funny, handsome man, what possibly can go wrong in Las Vegas? I LOVE the fake dating / marriage of convenice trope so, so much and this book was everything I expected. Griffin and Emmas chemistry was amazing and I loved that they truly enjoyed each others company and became ...

Riot Reunion - Callie Hart

Bild
Riot Reunion - Callie Hart Going back to Riot House was something I hadn’t on my 2023 Bingo Card but I’m so, so happy that Callie wrote this book. The book starts were Riot Act ended: after graduation. We follow each couple who are all following their dreams which also means that they’re no longer living together and aren’t even in the same country but when one of them calls and needs help they let everything drop and come to help. We have all six POV’s which seems a bit much at first but I think it was perfect for this book especially because each couple has its own problem to fight so we can read three stories in one book. I was a bit skeptical at first because I thought that six different POV’s could get a bit messy but that didn’t happen and instead the plot flew perfectly. Riot Reunion was a beautifully written and intense book. It was filled with so much heartbreak but also love, happiness and loyalty and even if I’m a bit mad that Callie put my favorite couple through...

Strong Safety - Jerica MacMillan

Bild
Strong Safety  Jerica MacMillan I’m a sucker for roommate romances and those two characters didn’t dissapointed me in the slightest Isabelle and Caden where great characters, they supported and cared for each other and it was so sweet to witness how gentle and patient he was whenever she was self doubting herself. They also communicated with each other and listened and solved a problem together and had a healthy relationship. Plus point for no third act break up! But over all, the story seemed a bit rushed, especially during the first chapters because he was suddenly living there a month and we didn’t get to witness the first awkward weeks of living together and tiptoing around each other. All in all, it was a good book and an ejoyable read. I loved their friendship and relationship, how they treated each other and the little teaser of what might be coming next. Buy-In - Mia Kun

Bild
Buy-In   Mia Kun Buy- In is the second book in Mia Kun’s Elites of Eastview High series and follows Matt and Kiki. We already got a first glimpse of their relationship in the previous book and to say it‘s a messy one would be an understatemant. They constantly threw each others mistakes and struggles in their faces with such hatred and toxicity that I questioned if they even liked each other. Yes, sometimes you need someone who tells you when you did something wrong or need to change your behaviour and I get that Matt is an addict and Kiki had her own issues but they didn’t help each other, they made the other one feel worse and in my opinion that isn’t a sign of love. So, I had a very difficult time with both characters. The plot was messy too and seemed to be a mirror for their relationship. I had the feeling that there was a lot left unsaid and there were a few plot points that weren’t further explained or discussed which left me with a few questions. I’m happy that b...

Requiem - Callie Hart (ARC)

Bild
Requiem - Callie Hart  I literally have no words for this. Requiem is a dramatic and beautiful romance book with a good plot twist and I read it within 4 – 5 hours because I couldn’t put it down.   Sorrell Voss starts her senior year at Toussaint Academy with one mission in mind: she wants revenge for the death of her best friend. She belives that the rich boy Theo Merchant is responsible for it but little does she know that Theo knows more than she likes and question upon question arises. Is Theo really responsible? Or is there more to the whole story than it seems? Sorrell was a great character and I think she was genuinely authentic written, I felt all her confusion because let’s be honest I was so confused before the plot twist but it was all so authentic and really good for the story. At the beginning oft he book I was also so confused about Theos character. I needed my time to understand him and I think it is hard to do that before the plot twist comes out ...
