The Best of Us - Kennedy Fox (ARC)

Bild
The Best of Us  Kennedy Fox (ARC) I received a copy of The Best of Us in exchange of an honest review. Thank you so much.   The Best of Us is the second book in the „Love in Isolation“ series by Kennedy Fox. It is a standalone series, which means you don’t have to read all the books to understand the stories but I personally would recommend it, so you get to know the characters throughout different point of views. The Best of Us follows Ryan, Cami’s brother, and Kendall, Cami’s best friend. Both of them have one mission in mind: decorate the cabin for Cami and Eli’s honeymoon. But unfortunately there arrives a big snowstorm with them and they are forced to spend much more time together than planned. I really enjoyed reading their story, it was fun and sweet and a bit chaotic, especially the time when they left the cabin and were separated. Both Kendall and Ryan were such great and loveable characters and it was so amazing reading about their passion: helping...

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire - Jennifer L. Armentrout

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire Jennifer L. Armentrout  "He was both the villain and the hero, the monster and the monster - slayer. " Where do I begin? Honestly, I don’t know. When I read From Blood in Ash back in March, I thought it was my favorite book this year, and I also know I sound like an broken record, when I repeat over and over again how shocked but at the same time amazed I was, but this book really blowed my mind. A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire totally topped it. Knowing nearly all of Jennifer’s books, I should have expected it but somehow I was still speechless. A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire is book two of the Blood and Ash Series and it follows the events of the first book. After the revelation that Hawke is the dangerous Prince Casteel, whom everyone warned Poppy about, and his announcement that he’s going to marry her, the only thing she can think about is escaping. But unfortunately for her, Casteel already expected her plans and stops her. Poppy suf...

From Blood and Ash - Jennifer L. Armentrout

From Blood and Ash  Jennifer L. Armentrout  From Blood and Ash is definitely one of my favorite books this year! I read it back in March and let me tell you, I couldn’t be left any more shocked and speechless as I was and I was so caught up in the story, that I didn’t even realise there were vampires until it became official. This book isn’t only Jennifer’s very first High Fantasy novel with a whole new world, characters and secrets, it’s a damn masterpiece. It follows Poppy, the Maiden, the Choosen of her kingdom Masadonia, and Hawke who became one of Poppys guard, after her previous one was murdered. I really didn’t expect that fast character development, given it was just the first of four books, but in my opinion it was totally plausible and really refreshing. Poppy is torn back and forth between fulfilling her duties as the Maiden and actually living and being adventurous, and it tore my heart apart at one scene especially because it became clear ho...

She can pretend she’s over him, but he’s not letting her go that easily. Maize Bishop spends her days cooking and baking for her family’s bed and breakfast.
